First Registration of Land

YOU know, but could you PROVE that you own your land?

Did you know that only 50% of land in England and Wales is registered? This means that the other 50% has a risk of being contested at some point in the future, particularly if over time the deeds become lost or destroyed.

Without registration you could also be running the risk that if you sell your land, the process could be much slower and complicated, especially if the plans in your Deeds are very old.

If you’ve lost some or all of your Title Deeds you may still be able to register.

There’s never been a better time to register

Registration is not compulsory today unless land is sold, transferred or mortgaged. However the Government is already considering making it compulsory to have registered your land during the next 6 years.

With the Land Registry currently offering a 25% discount on all voluntary registrations, it makes sense to register your land now and be safe in the knowledge that you have the best protection of title in place.
